Sunny Italian Meeting

From 4th to 8th April 2011, we took part in the final Comenius Project meeting, which was held in a picturesque Italian town called Rovigo. After our arrival to Italy, we went to our host families‘ flats and houses, where we had a rest and got ready for the following programme.
Next morning, we met all the students from our partner countries (France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Romania) at Italian school to begin the project work together by introducing presentations about our regions and the situation on the job market. After our morning work, we went sightseeing with Italian students as guides.
On Wednesday, we were divided into four international groups and then we created presentations, which were meant to summarize differences and similarities among job opportunities in all the countries. Then the results were officially showed to the Rovigo’s representatives and the local television, so the project was successfully finished.
Our Thursday trip to Venice was like a special prize for all the work and sometimes difficult and challenging communication in English.
After the week, which was filled with wonderful weather, delicious food and Italian hospitality, we were leaving full of experiences, enriched with interesting skills and new friendships. We just hope now that we will soon have the opportunity to meet our foreign friends again.

The Best Week Ever

From 7th to 11th February 2011 the team of students with their teacher Hana Ringlová took part in the Comenius project meeting in German town Kirchheim unter Teck near Stuttgart. There was a lot of work and also fun.
The students presented their research of the job market in our region and interviews done at the Employment Centre, in OSRAM and Komerční banka in Bruntál. Our team did the presentations very well and got a big applause :) .
After the short coffee break of getting to know students from the other countries – Germany, Portugal, France, Italy, Romania and Poland, the international groups were formed. Together they compared the job market in Europe. During the meeting students were also informed about the EURES website, which offers job opportunities all around Europe.
During next days the groups were to prepare and show some job interviews.
There was a lot of entertainment and leisure time. The students went sightseeing in Kirchheim and Stuttgart and they visited the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Every evening the students had their own programme – rock concerts, ice-skating or bowling.
The week in Germany was good experience and opportunity to meet new people from foreign countries and also to improve communication skills, mainly in English.
The students Lucie Straková, Helena Kalousková and Tereza Hrabčáková perfectly represented Bruntál, our school and really enjoyed their stay abroad because it was much better than they had expected!

3rd meeting – Romania, Iasi

Romania – Iasi
From 18th to 22nd October 2010 we took part in a project meeting in a Romanian city called Iasi.
We had to learn something about a job market in each country of the Comenius project (Germany, Romania, Italy, Portugal, Poland, France and Czech Republic). However, in our opinion, the best thing on the stay in Romania was meeting new friends and that we could see this country with its traditions and history.
Although our meeting took just tree days, we had a very busy schedule.
First day we were invited to one of the two Romanian schools – Economical and Tourism School of Iasi. There we also met all the people of the Comenius project.
After a school tour, we presented our town and job opportunities in our region.
On Wednesday we visited the Technical High School of M. Sturdza – the second Romanian school. There were some tasks for us to work on them in international groups.
After the morning work, we went to watch a show that Romanian students had prepared for us.
In the evening and on Thursday, our hosts showed us their country. We visited the city of Iasi but the countryside too.
The meeting gave us a lot of experiences, friends and we have also improved our English.

A trip to Comenius Museum

2010 June 21
Posted by Tomáš Pavelka

Our Comenius group of students went to the town of Uherský Brod where the Museum of John Amos Comenius is situated. We wanted to find out more about this great man after whom the international EU projects are called.

Our sightseeing tour began in the Column Hall where we saw a film about Comenius. After the projection the guide took us to the room furnished as a classroom in Comenius´s time. The classroom was equipped with new teaching aids according to Comenius´s vision. Then we continued the tour through the museum and we could see exhibitions of the life and family of Comenius, the time he lived in and his work. At the end of the exhibition was a room „Labyrinths“ symbolizing the life of Comenius.

The programme of the tour was nicely organized and with the help of modern technology we learned a lot of new things about one of the most famous Czechs of all times.
